Do you want to see a light house? Great for that.Do you want to use the compass to get a bearing on the lighthouse? Great, if you are on terra firma or a calm sea (or lake).
Do you want to take a bearing on a lighthouse when the boat is rocking on two foot ocean swells? Forget about it. Your accuracy will be plus or minus 10 degrees at best. The compass is not dampened enough by the liquid it floats in, and it swings far too much because of that when you are on the ocean.
Also, I failed to check that the "night light" works because I didn't need it, but when I did decide to test it, it didn't work. I found that the batteries in their housing were corroded, and so were the connections. I can only assume that the binoculars arrived that way because I had not spent much time on or near the ocean with them when I checked that.
In summary, these binoculars are worth the price if you are a hiker, since I doubt that you will be using the compass feature at night, but go for a more expensive set if you expect to use them on anything but solid land or calm waters.
