The M1 has been an excellent watch. I have worn it daily for three years, and other than a battery change has worked perfectly. The dial layout is very readable, especially in water. The completely luminous dial makes it easy to read in the dark. It is styled very well, with good overall look and good dial and hand design. Still ticking after tons of drops, hits, and bangs. New Made Item: One of the more difficult WW1 German bayonets to find today is this Pioneer issue ?sawback? Butcher Bayonet first introduced in 1905. Highlights of this reproduction are; a blued steel finish; quality ribbed wooden grips and an intimidating 58 staggered tooth saw blade on the upper side of the bayonet edge! In WWI these Bayonets were rumored to have caused such dreadful injury that stories circulated of POWs being shot for simply carrying one. This is the first multi-tool I've ever owned. Everybody I've ever heard has always said: "Do NOT buy a cheap one! You'll regret it." I saw that movie based on that high-adventure guy who got stuck in a cavern for several days by himself with no food and little water and ended up losing is arm. He had a cheap multi-tool and it broke on him. In the movie, he said the same thing: "Don't buy a cheap one." The last place you want a cheap tool like this is in a survival situation as he was. As a mechanic, I learned that lesson many years ago with tools. I even looked at the Gerber and some people said it was junk and then got hassled by Gerber when it did break. Wasn't willing to take the chance as I'm not too impressed with most everything else Gerber makes.

After all my research, Leatherman seems to be the best money can buy.

I just got it yesterday and haven't had any use for it yet, but I played with it a bit. This came with a few extra bits and the sheath. The sheath is neat because you can attach it to your belt either vertically or horizontally. Somebody thought this through.

I got this particular model because of the 154cm steel knife blade. Much better edge retention over 440 steel. Came VERY sharp -I can shave with this knife. In fact, I was considering buying a folding knife (looking at a Benchmade), but I may not now since I have this knife.

I'm VERY happy with my purchase decision.

Redfeather Hike Control Recreational Snowshoes, 36-Inch Review

I had rented some snow shoes from a local place here to get started, and they were great, but I didn't want to keep throwing money at rentals while I really tried out the sport. These shows were a nice way to be able to get out on the snowpack without spending the $$$$ for really nice shoes. They didn't really excel at anything, not really light, not to heavy, not great grip, but not bad either. They float really well, but they don't lift out of a step all that quickly.

These are really sort of an entry level shoe, that won't be breaking any records for speed or comfort, but all things considered, especially the price, I think they are a good buy. If you are only looking to get out several times a year, and aren't looking to make any major climbs, these might be a shoe to consider.
