I cannot say enough good things about these shoes. Right out of the box they felt almost perfectly broken in - seriously - I couldn't believe it. They just fit so perfectly. The only thing that needed to loosen up was the sole...This is not a complaint - just all brand new shoes need a bit of breaking in. By the 2nd wear, the sole was perfectly pliable. As someone who has struggled finding great hiking boots, these just astonish me. They are very light weight which is great on the trails. I'm a hiker, backpacker, camper so waterproof and lightweight are two of my top priorities in a shoe, well besides overall fit of course! The toe guard is perfect, helping to add plenty of room for toe comfort and while I didn't give it too many whacks, it certainly appears to be able to hold it's own in a toe stubbing fight. The interior is perfectly formed and prevents foot slipping which is great coming down steep hills. And miracle of miracles, this company actually turned the ankle support up and slightly out instead of up and in to prevent rubbing on the back of the ankle which has always been a huge problem with past hiking boots I've owned. I gave the waterproofing a good test just today and it held up. Lastly, they're very nice looking too and the price cannot be beat!
