This spotting scope for the price is an excellent value. We use it to look at birds, especially a pair of red-tailed hawks that occasionally will perch near our house. The one flaw, and it is worth mentioning, is that the front and rear halves are connected with a plastic screw mount. My son dropped the scope from about 2 feet, while it was in the carrying case, and the mount broke. I was able to fix it with glue, but this scope should be handled with care. The zoom works well and the focusing is fairly easy.
With that said, we are using it to replace a cheap $35 telescope that we bought at toys-r-us. This is dramatically better for our needs.
