Our son used this for daily dives in Hawaii and was totally independent with it. He said it fit well and was very comfortable for him. We certainly had no issues with wear/tear and the suit held up very well for the 30+ dives he has used it for! I would also like to add we did 100% shore dives so the suit did very well with the rough lava entry/exit points on the shoreline.
