Marucci CAT5? Alloy BBCOR Baseball Bats Review

The 33" CAT 5 was a fantastic bat... until the NCAA took it off of the BBCOR approved bats (Feb 2012). Not sure which model of the CAT5 that I am reviewing here, but the 33" isn't worth the purchase because of the BBCOR disbarment. Great bat otherwise! Now if this is the 34" CAT5, I don't have much to say about it. The HS coach refused to let my son use the 34" (despite the fact that he was more than capable of swinging that weight/ounce bat), because nobody else in the school was swingin' a stick more than 33". (He was a good-sized Freshman at the time). Marucci was great about the whole ordeal and had very amenable options for replacement. Unfortunately I paid the extra $100 for the Black (another fantastic bat), which was disbarred during the summer of 2012. Got the Team bat (and a wooden) for replacement, not the quality of the CAT5 & definitely not the Black. what a shame...
