I bought this bag for a backpacking trip into the Bighorn Mtns in June. We were at 9,500 feet so it can get cold at night. Kept me toasty in just my underwear, no base layer at all. The secondary expansion zipper is great! I have big shoulders and with the expander open I can completely turn around inside the bag. Very comfy! This fall I slept outside in 25 degrees and again, just my underwear and very toasty! I have yet to close the expander for more warmth because I haven't had to. I bet with a base layer this bag would be good to 0 degrees.
