Mad River Rocket - Killer B Sled Review

I was at a Flea Market a couple of years ago and saw one of these sitting on the table - bought it for $20 and thought it was kind of heavy when I put it in the back of my truck. When I got home, I realized that there were 3 of them sandwiched together. bonus!!!!

My wife and I have used 2 of them in the woods near our cabin and have had a blast! They are really easy to learn and turn very easily. We have found that at speed they are a bit hard to control due to their short length. If you ride them all day your knees and hips do get a bit sore, but we found that walking back up hill makes you loosen up a bit.

The Mad River Rocket that we were not using, I turned in to a pulk - winter camping sled. I drilled out holes on the side for shock cord and constructed a harness with webbing and PVC tubing all for about $15. After some experimenting and a bunch of rollovers on sideslopes, I have used the sled/pulk a ton winter camping. The sled tracks well and is small enough to get through thick woods yet large enough to carry a lot of gear. I clip it in to a small backpack and have found that it is much easier and more fun to pull my gear than have on a large pack. The PVC pipes hold it away from my body enough when I an going downhill.

I would highly recommend one of these sleds if you can get your hands on one!

STX putters are awesome! This putter is on the lighter side compared to average weight putters. If you are a heavy putter golfer this putter would be the opposite. Now back to this putter. I have two of this model, I have two sets with everything equal besides the bag. Sounds funny but I have my reasons. Anyway this putter creates great spin with unsurpassed accuracy. I am a single digit handicap and this putter got me there. I started with the red face model and this year I added the Black. I wanted this because I tend to play both private and public courses and this enables me to have the same stroke at any course. The black is standard for faster greens while the red adds 3 inches of Roll, and the Green is 6 inches of Roll. STX has other models that you can interchange the face plates at your convenience however they are $3xx.xx and are heavier and larger all together. So for $92 on Amazon I figured I would buy another for my faster course and cart bag. I bought mine on sale with a Golfsmith discount for $75 last year and this year they are $200. Buy while you can, you will not be disappointed with STX.

These riding tights are fantastic. Enough body to the fabric to hold everything in place without being too hot or binding. I loved them so much I got them in black, too! These tights do NOT fit like regular running or yoga tights. They run smaller. I wear a size 2 and am 5'3", which is normally an extra small, but the small in these Kerrits fit perfectly. They are high quality and look like they will last.
