i just don't get what is going on with pearl... i'm a long time user of pearl izumi jerseys. unfortunately their sizing/fit is beginning to really annoy me. just this past season i have purchased three of their mtb line of jerseys, the launch, impact and veer styles. all are deemed semi-form fit, which i like. however i now have three jerseys that are all a different size/fit. they are either too snug, really loose or okay but slightly short. i don't get it. as for the veer it is the snug fit that gets me. it is a really nice, cool and functionable jersey but the fit is off!. if you are average in size say 32-33 waist & medium jersey then this may be too snug. please

Magellan eXplorist 400 Water Resistant Hiking GPS Review

Explorist 400 GPS is an upgrade from my previous GPSr, a Garmin Geko 201. I use my GPS for geocaching, tracking hiking and fishing waypoints, as well as a navigation aid while driving.

Pros:

Background and detail maps available

Expandable memory; I have a 1GB SD card in mine

Doesn't lose satellite reception in woods as much as my Garmin did

Long battery life (minimum 12 hours+)

Lightweight, floats and is water-resistant

Hasn't led me wrong yet

Cons:

Had to get separate software to be useful for navigation while driving (MapSend DirectRoute North America)

Proper orientation of USB cable on GPS was confusing at first, but that got straigtened out quickly by a visit to the Magellan website

Full instruction manual is in PDF form, not booklet. More of a nitpick con, really.

Recommendations:

Large capacity SD memory card (256MB minimum if using downloaded maps)

Protection for LCD screen. Either a product like InvisibleShield or at a minimum, a carrying case (I have both)

Once you get your GPS, go to Magellan's website to download latest firmware update. The site also has a diagram for the proper orientation of the USB cable to the GPS.

All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other people.

Pearl Izumi Men's Fly Softshell Pant, Black, X-Large Review

I use these when commuting into work on cool mornings, about 8 miles. Great for that application but if it were much longer they'd be too warm for "cold" Alabama mornings. But that's what I bought them for and they work great for that purpose. Not sure of durability yet as I've only worn them 5 or so times. There is no padding inside so I've been wearing cycling shorts under these pants.

Vaude Rock Ultralight Backpack (Black, 35 L) Review

This is not made to sit and be looked at, or maybe it is. The simple design is wonderful (9/10*'s). I can fit 3 pants, 6 shirts, a tent, a sleeping bag, gloves, hats, hygiene care, medicine, rope, a hammock, and water/food in it. The plastic internal frame is, fine (7/10*'s). But after using this to hike for three months throughout the Sahara desert, and Europe, it tore everywhere. The material is thin and weak (3/10*'s). Even for daily use this back will break eventually. Even crammed with less things this pack will tear sooner then you like. For that reason I would not recommend this bag, even though I really like most of the design. In the end materiel is what you are paying for. They should have sacrificed having a heavier bag and have a bag that will last.
