This watch features a silver-tone stainless steel round case with a bright orange bezel for a bold splash of color. The unidirectional bezel displays white Arabic numerals 10 through 50 at each 10-minute position and rectangular indices at each five-minute position on the bezel. A black dial features white luminous indices at all hour positions, with the exception of the three o'clock position, where the date window is displayed. A white outside minute track and luminous silver-tone hour, minute, and second hands complete the dial. The stainless steel silver-tone bracelet of this watch securely fastens by fold-over clasp with safety. I purchased a Croton watch for my wife from Amazon for $225. I thought the brand was reputable. She thought the watch looked beautiful on the web and when we received it. She had looked a long time for a dressy watch without bling. She rarely wore it as we rarely go to dressy occasions. However, every time she did, the continuous, hinged band would come open.

Finally she took it to her jeweler. He said he could restore the individual hinge that broke, but that the entire band was poorly made and the breaks were likely to happen again and again. We wanted be optimistic, and hoped he was wrong. He wasn't. It just kept breaking.

We contacted Croton's repair dept. via email. The response we got said simply and clearly that the repairs were really backed up right now, so we should expect an 8-week wait time. She wasn't happy, but what could we do? They sent her a special, pre-addressed, padded envelope and she sent it off.

That was over a year ago. We habe both called and called and left messages; they never answer the phone. They go unreturned. We send emails. They don't reply. This is no way to (1) make a watch, (2) repair defective products, or (3) to work with customers.

Their watches look ok, but DON'T BUY A CROTON WATCH! They break and the company will not repair them.
